### Epicyon codebase
This "hyper-local" edition of Indymedia utilises [Epicyon](https://code.freedombone.net/bashrc/epicyon) as its codebase.
We are always on the lookout for tools and projects that fulfil the #4Opens and #PGA Hallmarks - Epicyon nicely fits the bill.
In particular, it is built on ActivityPub, with compatibility for RSS. This is ideal as it provides a clean basis for building a resilient, federated network, that can interact using various formats - news can be published as photos, video clips, blogs, vlogs, Mastodon "toots", etc.
We shall be exploring and publishing via several "mediums" over the coming months, to provide living examples of how these tools might be utilised to re-build the [Independent Media Center Network (IMCN)](https://unite.openworlds.info/indymedia/Editorial-Collective/wiki/Home).
