“The project consists of several components: Pleroma is the server implementation, and comes bundled with PleromaFE, the default frontend. Other useful utilities are also provided“
So we would need a new front end the PleromeFE side? the are a number of frontends which would be the best to use, pros/cons to do the news activertypub site?
What do you think the work load on that would be to build the indymedia front end with #OMN logic.
Pleroma has two UIs and you can pick either. The Mastodon UI is literally the same as Mastodon with branding changed.
Customizing a pleromaFE with background and theming would be straightforward. Other instances have customized the Mastodon UI so it's possible but I don't know how much work is involved.
Have a look at the images of the post above, if people have time please start to outline the codeing plan to build this. The mobile interface can just be swipe sideways between the pannals? ideas?
Please use the wiki and add URL links here.
If you really wanted to go the extra mile you could make an indymedia branded version of Tusky for mobile. I expect most people will be reading on mobile.
Tbh. I doubt your idea will work good on pleroma. As much as its fo far the best AP implementation for microblogging its nowjere near your idea from the first post.
And using tusky for reading indymedia will be hard since it will all fall into the same void as everything else on the fediverse. Tusky is microblogging app! It will be nowhere near good ui to get indymedia news and interact with them
@muppeth what is the actual problem can you tell me point for point, based on the speck we are building please. if its long lets move it to the wiki.
Who has looked at https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma-fe
