[DRAFT]

Looking for a Python guru, who's comfortable with HTML and CSS

Challenge

Help us clean up our forked code, so it does not break the core functionality of the original codebase.

Ideally the changes would be such that the original author could pull them into his codebase, avoiding the need for external maintenance.

The idea is to have the visual output acheived by our fork (seen here in one of our rollout test sites), while retaining compatibility with upstream code (seen here in our personal rollout test).

Bounty

We have very kindly been gifted 4 mBTC (0.004 bitcoin) which can be transferred directly to a wallet of your choosing within the next 2 weeks, upon successful completion.

If we could offer more, we would - we are currently running on volunteer power, with some small banked funds that enable us to keep infrastructure online.

If you're interested and feel up to the challenge, or want to know more, contact us via any of the following methods:

Background

We're in the process of rebooting #indymedia - to reinvigorate local, grassroots media and journalism.

Running on the #KISS principle, we also actively aim to create nothing new; where possible using or building on existing codebases.

We're not "reinventing the wheel", but simply trying to breath some life back into independent media at a time when we truly desperately need it.

Our first test rollout is using Epicyon (https://unite.openworlds.info/indymedia/epicyon).
The author of Epicyon has been working with us, adding certain features to extend the project for use by an Independent Media Center (IMC).

We are working as much as possible to build this out by consensus - so minimising the changes to the #indymedia project - we've developed a fork of Epicyon that mirrors the original workflow and visually follows the "original" look.

The fork has an 'alt-html-css' branch where our current alterations have been developed.

Unfortunately, given certain time constraints, I made some changes to get the visual aspects correct, but at the cost of breaking some original functionality.
