Once it revolutionized communication, now pushed under by the rise of the #dotcons. is a #4opens project that took over the world, it has since been sold by everyone who joined the #dotcons after a long fight and is in need of a reboot.
#closedweb – The internet before the openweb and now again after it — dominated by for-profit control, manipulation, and enclosure. is what existed before the openweb and what exists now after the openweb, what we now call the #dotcons
#dotcons – Corporate platforms that fenced in our digital commons, prioritizing profit and control over people and communities. Are the corporations that enclosed our digital common for social control and greed.
#4opens – A compass for ethical, sustainable tech: open data, open source, open standards, open process. A tool to judge projects and a foundation for collaborative, transparent development.
#OMN – Open Media Network. A 20-year #openweb project based on the #4opens, designed to build networks not silos.
#indymediaback – Rebooting the once-massive alt-media network that rivalled #traditionalmedia in reach on the #openweb.
#OGB – Open Governance Body: community-led decision-making structures that keep power distributed.
Problems & Warnings
#geekproblem – The cultural habit in tech to build for control rather than empowerment; fiddling with “chat app 333” while the commons is enclosed. Not inherently pejorative — there can be #geeksolutions — but we must take the “problem” out of geek culture.
#techshit – Tools built without addressing real needs; the waste product of the #geekproblem. Part of the compost metaphor: “shit” is only useful if it’s turned into fertile ground for better ideas.
#techchurn – Constant cycles of new tech projects that solve nothing; motion without progress.
#nothingnew – A polemical call to stop building new tools for the sake of novelty and instead improve what already works.
#encryptionists – Those who see “more encryption” as the universal answer, often blocking trust-building and social flow. Useful in minority cases, but dangerous when it becomes technological authoritarianism.
#stupidindividualism – Isolation sold as freedom; prioritizing personal gain over community well-being, often at the expense of collective survival.
#deathcult – Neoliberalism’s 40-year reign: an ideology that prioritizes profit and power over human well-being, ecological health, and social justice. Invisible in our minds yet shaping our world.

#OMN Its a open media network kinda in the name. the is power in open. We do need parrael closed media networks such as scuttalbutt as though they have less power and outreach they are needed for more spiky actions which have powerfull direct affect.
