###Agenda and Outcomes

  • Tech speak of real implementations
    • epicyon for local level IMC/publish
    • backend database, based on activertypub codebase, for regional IMC's/subject
      • considered un-necessary by @bashrc (iirc) @hamishcampbell we are creating a datasoup with the sites being ladeals, the database is the coldrean to hold the soup, media objects. In the end a bootem up human scale simatic web :)
      • further discussion required?
    • something bigger for national/top sites
      • test roll out is street/village/town, with hindrances to scaling a vertue
      • further discussion required
  • Follow up on last meeting outcomes
  • ActivityPub conf and hackathon afterwords
    • epicyon to be focus of the hackathon (?)
      • Todo: specifically, we should decide on a particular "feature" to be workshopped/implemented @hamishcampbell yep wiki for group work, template to do site function/look feel. feeds by tag I think are implemented, ask @bashrc
  • Outreach
    • If understood correctly, the main focus for outreach is to begin stirring up more active involvement from journalists/orgs and devs/syops/scripters and grassroots media crew.
    • It seems there are several types of outreach atm (see: Outreach wiki page)
  • Reducing our servers
    • What are our actual requirements?
      • Our main requirements should be fine with low bandwidth
      • Only peertube and potentially the bbb box require high bandwidth
      • Todo: Need to determine storage requirements
        • peertube requires a lot of space realistically
        • gitea to-be-determined
        • all else likely small footprint
      • (See: Outreach)
  • Other
    • Weekly core meetings from now on
    • We are to be an example of what's possible and build/shape real tools to help the move.
      • Now's the time to decide on the core tools that we want to pursue at this time and "formalise" their use (with How-To's)
      • Organisational: gitea, xmpp, bbb, etherpad, ?)
      • Publishing: writefreely(?) (blog), mastodon (tw*tter-clone), rsstootalizer (rss-to-masto), other (?)
    • gitea wiki is suitable candidate for the How-To's
    • searx plugin request; balence results from the open web with the centralised, capitalist silo's.
    • Todo: migrate existing etherpad content (see here)
